ICTAM has announced that it has joined the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN) as the only Manitoba organization in a cross-Canada network of digital media innovation hubs collaborating nationally to advance digital innovation.

“We are thrilled to join CDMN,” said Kathy Knight, CEO of ICTAM. “Tech is everywhere and in everything, being recognized as a hub gives us the opportunity to continue making an impact in Manitoba.”

Through membership in this unique national network, ICTAM will enhance its current programming to increase opportunities for domestic and international market exposure for its entrepreneur members and community.

“Adding ICTAM to our network will not only enhance the geographic coverage of our network, but will also add a strong resource of knowledge and programming,” said Lisa Cashmore, Director, Network Operations, CDMN. “CDMN is made of centers considered leaders in their ecosystem and ICTAM most certainly brings great value to the existing hubs and the clients they serve.”

ICTAM will also benefit from having access to proven regional programming and best practices shared by other network members. Joining Canada’s largest members-only online collaboration of commercialization resources immediately expands the ICTAM’s member support capability, while providing fellow network partners access to ICTAM’s regional resources.

“There are great synergies with CDMN and our existing programs. Being a hub will enable us to further elevate the profile Manitoba’s burgeoning tech sector on the national stage”, says Knight.

Effective today, ICTAM will be a channel for driving participation in national initiatives that support the commercialization of innovation. Applications for the CDMN Soft Landing program, an initiative for mature startups and small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who can benefit from a getting a toe-hold outside Canada to expand their businesses, will be accepted from July 21 until August 7, 2016. Companies can apply for up to $4000CDN worth of funding to cover travel and accommodation expenses plus up to three months fees at a co-working facility in an international market.
