KITCHENER, March 5, 2019– The Canadian Digital Media Network is pleased to announce the addition of three new innovation hubs to its national network, including District 3 in Montreal, QC, Startup Zone in Charlottetown, PE, and VIATEC in Victoria, BC. The network now has 29 hubs from coast to coast across Canada.
QUOTES:
“With the addition District 3, Startup Zone and VIATEC, we’re strengthening the network which provides more opportunities to support entrepreneurs and tech companies across the country — particularly as they scale and enter new global markets. This will help to create jobs and strengthen the Canadian economy.” – Avvey Peters, Managing Director, Canadian Digital Media Network.
“VIATEC is excited to be a part of CDMN. Communities across Canada have a great opportunity to realize significant impact from their local tech sector and, while tech is already the number one industry in Victoria with over $4 billion in annual revenues, we are focused on helping our innovative entrepreneurs to scale up their companies and products to their highest potential. As one of Canada’s oldest tech associations, we are eager to learn from our peers and share our experiences. By working as part of a national network we expect we can lend a hand and learn a lot about building the most valuable programs and events for our members and our community.”
– Dan Gunn, CEO, VIATEC
“We’re excited to join the CDMN network from the mightiest province in Canada. Joining the CDMN ecosystem is a huge asset to us as we continue to collaborate with innovation partners across Canada and around the world. This solidifies our growing relationships with national incubators, as we come together to share best practices, top resources, market access, and key training to growing businesses.”
– Patrick Farrar, CEO, Startup Zone.
“It is an honour for District 3, an Innovation Center within Concordia University, to become a Montreal hub for CDMN. District 3 will actively join the knowledge exchange within this bright and innovative community in Canada and we are committed to engage CDMN programs, services and opportunities to accelerate our tech startups”.
– Xavier-Henri Hervé, Executive Director, District 3 Innovation Center.
